George Keeler

George and Lee Keeler have been helping SouthWings since early 2005. After retiring from the military in 1992, George established a one-man company to provide contract pilot and aircraft services as well as Ground and Flight Instruction. Lee has continued her career in nursing and ministry. On a contract to fly for Environmental Aerial Surveys (EAS), to conduct a turtle survey under the supervision of the University of South Carolina, George’s concern and interest in the environment was sparked. He has since flown additional commercial surveys on manatee, Right and Humpback Whales and other mammals. When EAS downsized its aircraft fleet, George and Lee purchased the Cessna Skymaster he had been flying and they struck out on their own. This provided a platform to expand his interest in environmental issues and began a happy association with SouthWings. George and Lee have enjoyed volunteering for SouthWings’ missions around Brunswick Georgia, St. Augustine and Apalachicola Florida.
