Aerial Photography Tutorial

Tips for your upcoming SouthWings flight

Aerial photography can be very different than on the ground. If you're planning to capture imagery during your flight, watch the video below to prepare you for a successful mission!

Quick tips

  1. Plan out your photography needs.
  2. Only a few of our volunteer pilots’ planes have camera windows. Be aware that there could be scratches, fog, or reflections when taking photos through a window.
  3. A polarizing filter may help with atmospheric haze.
  4. Wearing dark colors may help minimize window reflection issues.
  5. Please be careful not to let camera lenses touch windows as they may damage the glass.
