Since 2008 Meredith has served the organization in programmatic, operations, fundraising, and leadership roles, including launching SouthWings’ first satellite office in New Orleans in 2012. From 2016 through 2020 she served as Associate Executive Director, returning to Asheville with her husband and son in 2018. In 2021 she became the Executive Director. Raised in Atlanta with roots in the South Carolina Lowcountry, the Southeast is Meredith’s home. Her commitment to ending mountaintop removal coal mining is what first brought her to SouthWings. She is a graduate of Oberlin College and holds an MPA and an MS Environmental Science from Indiana University.
