Riley is a Maryland native who has made the southeast her home. She grew up boating with her family on the Severn River and eating crabcakes in downtown Annapolis. Her professional journey began at University of South Carolina where she received her Bachelors in Marine Science and realized her passion for environmental and public health. She then lived briefly in Greenville, SC before attending the University of North Carolina Wilmington where she received her Masters in Coastal and Ocean Policy. Through her previous schooling, work as the White Oak Waterkeeper, and service as an AmeriCorps member, she has expanded her understanding of environmental issues and strengthened her approach to protecting communities. In her free time, Riley enjoys watching movies wither her husband, hiking along rivers, and buying little crafts from local markets. Riley is excited to expand on her previous use of SouthWings for aerial water quality investigations and support conservation work from the ground.
