Don Stansberry

Huntsville, Tennessee

Don C. Stansberry III began flying gliders at age 14. A Flight Instructor and part-time corporate pilot through college, he left Aviation in 1988 to pursue a career as an attorney. Quickly discovering that his passion was still at the airport, he left the law, founding Big South Fork Aero Inc, in 1992, and growing it into a regional flight management company serving clients in 6 states.

Since selling the company in 2023, Stansberry enjoys semi-retirement. He flies occasional corporate trips for his old company in Beech Premier Jets and in King Air 90 and 200 turbo props. He enjoys family, motorcycles and the Cessna 414A that he and a friend own together and is fixing up a 1993 Super Decathlon which he hopes to fly in the Fall of 2025.

Stansberry is happily married since 1986 to Dr. Tracey T Stansberry.  She is a nurse practitioner and Ph.D. lecturer at the University of Tennessee College of Nursing. Tracey and Don have two grown children, five grandchildren and a small garden.
