Jeff Justis

Oxford, Mississippi

Dr. Jeff Justis began flying while in Medical School in 1953. He soloed in 1954 and received his commercial license in 1957 while interning. Since then he has earned an ATP, A&P and flown a total of about 8500 hours. Dr. Justis has owned seven airplanes; his current aircraft is a low-wing Aztec N6944A. Since 1987 he has been building an RV 6 (2 place 160 HP sport airplane). While practicing orthopaedics with the Campbell Clinic in Memphis, TN, he was able to use an airplane to serve crippled children’s clinics in Mississippi and on a few occasions to fly patients home. His current occupation (avocation for 65 years) is reproducing 18th and 19th century furniture. Of his reproductions he says, “commissions from my wife paid in intangibles – not money.” Dr. Justis and his wife Sally currently reside in Oxford, MS.
