John Sapienza

Brunswick, Maryland

John is a retired US Army helicopter pilot who has been rated for over 40 years and remains an avid aviator. In the US Army, John flew and instructed in several different aircraft, but his primary aircraft was the UH-60 Blackhawk. Now, he spends his time flying his Cessna 182Q, N182MM. John flies for several organizations beside SouthWings, including Angel Flight, Pilots 'N Paws, and Patient Airlift Services. John is a member of AOPA and the Experimental Aircraft Association. Following his career in the US Army, John was a contractor supporting contracts for various US Government customers, a second career he retired from in June 2021. John loves to introduce people to the joys of aviation, but also is more than happy to simply fly to smash bugs or take his wife Carol to breakfast or dinner. John is based out of the Frederick Municipal Airport, in Frederick Maryland.
