Lance Rydberg

New Orleans, Louisiana

Lance was an active pilot for over 25 years, and a SouthWings volunteer pilot for nine years. During that time he donated 28 flights to support partners such as the Atchafalaya Basinkeeper, Audubon Society, DeSmog Blog, Healthy Gulf, Louisiana Environmental Action Network, Lower Mississippi Riverkeeper, National Wildlife Federation, United Houma Nation, Vanishing Earth and others to help conservation and restoration efforts in the Gulf. He was a practicing attorney in New Orleans, Louisiana and a father and husband who enjoyed sailing, diving, climbing, and participating in triathlons. Lance passed away in October of 2019, and he is missed by his family, friends, and the Gulf conservation community.
