Tim Burtch

Washington, D.C.

My name is Timothy Burtch, and I have been fortunate to help build, fly, and test airplanes for most of my career. I currently work as an investigator with the NTSB where, instead of building airplanes, we try to figure out how and why they break.

Before the NTSB, I worked at McDonnell Douglas, Boeing, Lockheed Martin and Rockwell Collins on a variety of commercial and military flight test programs. I hold degrees in Aeronautical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and I am an instrument-rated aircraft owner.
